Associations and blogs, second week of February

First, this week's free association thingie:

  1. Judge:: Jury, and Executioner
  2. Detroit:: Michigan
  3. Hyphen:: Mrs. Dash
  4. Get it right:: Or you'll be left behind
  5. Pulsating:: Pectorals
  6. Yoga:: Yoda
  7. Memorable:: Events
  8. Financial advisor:: Money tipster
  9. Ten million:: to one
  10. I:: am Henry VIII, I am

I don't really think anything (positive or negative) of Detroit, having never been there; after a moment, I could have probably come up with "cars", but really, the first thing I think of when I hear "Detroit" is "Michigan". Mrs. Dash is a flavored salt (I think). The Sierra On-Line game "Leisure Suit Larry 3" had the subtitle "Passionate Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals"*. 1e8:1 are long odds. I am not Henry VIII, I am not.

* - An amusing story about that... When LSL3 came out in 1989, I was 12 or 13. An older person (I won't say who) showed me the game, and when the game started, it asked questions about things that people over 18 ought to know, but people under 18 were somewhat less likely to, in order to determine how risque to make the game. What I found funny was that I got a perfect score on the test, but the older person, who ought to have known more than I about that era, got less than half of the questions right. So of the five levels ("Mother Goose", "Rather Risque", "Pretty Dirty", "Really Filthy", and "Totally Raunchiest"), I had the ability, were I to have so chosen, to play at "Totally Raunchiest", whereas the older person wouldn't've been able to set it any higher than "Rather Risque". So much for age detection! :-)

Next, this week's psiphi.org blog entries:

  1. Figured it out... (Feb. 6, where I delight in figuring out my DVD-burning software)
  2. They're here! (Feb. 9, where Worlds of ST:DS9 Two and Three arrive)
  3. Places I've Lived (Feb. 10, where I take an LJ meme and transplant it to my blog)
  4. My Upcoming Week, Feb. 14-20 (Feb. 13, where I look at the next seven days)

Pepsi can count: 45 Pepsi, 17 Pepsi Vanilla.
